It is with regret the BBA announce the death of George Smith (Brick Kiln Bowls Club). George supported the BBA as often as he could and loved his bowling and bowling companions. Due to the current circumstances we are not able to attend his funeral. If you wish to be a part of celebrating George's life you can listen to the service online Wednesday 27th May at 14:30.

Saturday 4th April

After a great response from club secretaries and delegates to my email today, it seems that most clubs are following government guidelines. Sadly one club has written off the season. As Bob Smith from Sherwood Park pointed out , it is great news that green maintenance as been placed in the essential catagory and work on greens can continue. Hopefully we can still look forward to some bowling activity taking place at some point during the season. As you can imagine it is not the sort of start I was hoping for during my presidency, but will take it in my stride. May I thank you all for responding to my email and I will try to keep posting updates on this site during the season. In the meantime during this time of great sadness and uncertainty keep safe and well.

Friday 27th March

Bowls England has today launched its own YouTube channel as part of its commitment to inform and entertain its members.

YouTube will provide Bowls England with a one stop shop for all its multimedia content where you will find the 'Extra End' Podcast, 'Keep Active' videos and other audio-visual content.

Saturday 21st March

With the vast majority of BBA members falling into the 'at risk' category from COVID-19, the BBA executive committee has made the decision to postpone any BBA activity until mid June. A review will then take place regarding the remainder of the season.

In the meantime stay safe and well, any changes will be communicated to you later in the season.

Tuesday 17th March

Following the advice given by the Prime Minister yesterday (16th March), the committee of West Midland Police Bowls section have taken the sad decision not to play in the BBA leagues or competitions during the 2020 season. The green will not be available for any events or matches.

We hope that everyone enjoys good health and we look forward to returning to competitive bowls on 2021.
